What is Reiki?
Reiki (霊気) is a Japanese energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and supports healing by balancing the body’s energy flow. It is based on the idea that a universal life force energy flows through all living things, and when this energy is balanced, it enhances physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
How Does Reiki Work?
A Reiki practitioner channels healing energy through their hands, either by lightly touching or hovering them over the recipient’s body. This process is believed to help remove blockages, restore balance, and promote natural healing.
Reiki is non-invasive and can be practiced in-person or even at a distance (distance healing).
Key Principles of Reiki
Reiki is guided by five spiritual principles, also called the Five Reiki Precepts, which help promote inner peace and mindfulness:
- Just for today, I will not be angry.
- Just for today, I will not worry.
- Just for today, I will be grateful.
- Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
- Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.
These principles encourage living in the present moment and cultivating a peaceful mindset.
